1. Participate in product roadmap planning and project definition for energy storage systems. Analyze system requirements, assess technical risks, develop product specifications and system solutions, define key performance indicators such as system efficiency, usable capacity, losses, and battery degradation, and allocate system requirements across Cell, EMS, PCS, and BMS teams.
2. Coordinate cross-functional development across EMS, PCS, BMS, fire protection, thermal, electrical, and other engineering teams to ensure product functionality and key performance targets align with the common system platform.
3. Lead system solution development and system architecture design, and review control, communication, electrical, and fire protection designs.
4. Participate in technical definition and acceptance reviews for in-house Cell, EMS, PCS, and BMS products, and evaluate third-party products for system integration.
5. Participate in system-level functional and performance validation.
6. Establish and continuously improve the IPD process for energy storage system development, defining review criteria across requirements analysis, product definition, solution design, engineering development, product validation, and production release.
7. Break down system technical requirements, identify development risks, and lead the resolution of critical technical challenges.
8. Provide technical solutions to customer-facing teams and support technical discussions and tender responses for major energy storage projects.
1. Master’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Electrochemistry, Mechatronics, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in energy storage system development with a master’s degree, or 2 years with a PhD.
2. Solid understanding of energy storage systems and key components, including PCS, BMS, EMS, communication systems, and lithium-ion batteries.
3. In-depth knowledge of C&I and utility-scale energy storage applications. Familiarity with system architecture, battery characteristics, and the selection and design of battery clusters, PCS, and transformers. At least 2 years of experience in energy storage system design.
4. Familiarity with applicable design standards and regulations, including IEC, UL, and relevant national standards.
5. Strong organizational, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and issue resolution.
7. Experience providing technical support for pre-sales activities.
